UNDERHAND THROW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOW TO

This week, the students will learn the basic elements of catching and will also continue throwing overhand in a catching/throwing game called 'I'm Open! I'm Open!' They will participate in catching/throwing games called, 'I'm Open! I'm Open!' and 'Backyard Clean-up.' Also, students in grades 3-6 will take a quiz on the basic concepts of throwing and catching. With the two snow days and late starts last week, the students will continue to learn and practice the basic elements of catching. This week, the students will participate in two exciting catching/throwing games called, 'Castle Ball' and 'Skyscrapers.' Next week, they will start a unit on floor hockey. Students will hone their skills in floor hockey activities. Students will learn and practice the proper technique of holding, traveling, passing and shooting with the hockey stick. This week, the students in grades K-6 will begin a unit on floor hockey. It is my hope that they will utilize and hone the technique and skills they learned and practiced last week. This week, the students in grades K-6 will participate in floor hockey games. It was great meeting and seeing you at the Pancake Breakfast and Book Fair on Saturday. This week students will focus on dribbling a ball and play dribble related games. They will learn and hone their skills through various activities and games. They will work on the skills of dribbling, passing and shooting. I hope you had a wonderful mid-winter break! This week, the students will begin their unit on basketball. Next week, students will continue their unit on basketball focusing on the skill of shooting the basketball.

The other stations are dribbling/shooting and juggling/jumping rope. They will participate in three stations, one of which will be the climbing wall, which many students have been looking forward to climbing. It should be a fun tme for all!ĭue to conferences, students in Grades K-6 will have only one PE class this week.

Students in Grades K-6 will learn how to shoot a basketball and practice this skill in two basketball shooting games, 'Hot Spot Shooting' and 'Cone Capture.' They will be taught 'BEEF' ( Balance, Eyes on Target, Elbow and Follow Through) to help remind them of the basics of shooting.
